How It All Started
It takes a fresh, creative mind
to think up the concept of
ShangriLlama.

Leave it to a 14-year-old young man named Tommy,
a llama lover who was determined to find a way
to spend more time with these fascinating animals.
But where could Tommy find llamas in Southern California?
(Llamas come from South America.)

Fortunately, a family friend mentioned
seeing a woman walking a pack of llamas at a nearby park. Tommy offered to find people to help walk her llamas—
and ShangriLlama was born!

For one year, Tommy served as Head Llama Herder.
Then KTLA Morning News televised a ShangriLlama Walk in February 2010. Immediately, ShangriLlama required
a bigger facility! Who knew there were so many
llama lovers in Southern California?!

Following an intensive search for the ideal property
with a scenic trail nearby,
ShangriLlama was able to relocate the llamas
to their own meadow in the gracious city of Yorba Linda. Now customers can observe these interesting animals grazing, preparing for their walk, and excitedly
running toward the trail.
